1. Flexible Scheduling with convenient lesson times to fit into busy family schedules. I teach mostly on Zoom. If you live in Montreal, an in-person lesson is available for the first meeting.
"I was a little hesitant about learning online at first but it worked out so well because my son was able to meet with Emma before school even started for the day." (Parent)
2. My rate is $100 per 45-minute online lesson.
3. 🎹 🏋️♀️. Whether you're hitting the gym or learning to play the piano, two sessions per week for six months will always yield better results than one session per week for an entire year.
Based on my experience, I recommend scheduling lessons twice a week, if possible, to ensure maximum progress.
For struggling readers, intensive remediation is the most successful method.
4. I include morphology instruction for most students. By understanding prefixes and suffixes, students can decipher the meaning of unfamiliar words by breaking them down into smaller, meaningful parts. This knowledge aids in vocabulary development, comprehension, word formation and spelling.
5. Did you or your close family have difficulty learning to read? There is often a hereditary element to reading challenges.
6. All Time Zones welcome! As well as Montreal, I have students in British Colombia, Ontario and Europe. Online lessons make scheduling easy. I also regularly teach my students when they are away from home - consistency is key and online lessons means fewer cancellations.
7. Please contact me so we can discuss how I can help your child become a stronger reader.
